People should read this book because it is funny. Baker finally adopted and I felt good because they got a home. View 1 comment. Aug 29, Maggie rated it really liked it Shelves: 4th-grade , puppy-place. I love the dog's name. Why is it though that everyone names their dogs Maggie? These are meant for younger kids, like 1st or 2nd graders. I like in the books how Ellen Miles writes what the dogs are thinking, not just what the people do and think.
It makes me wonder what every dog in the world is thinking right now. Nov 29, Julz marked it as to-read. I can't wait to read this book!! I'm going to be mean and give it one start because I feel like the kids were particularly pushy and manipulative in this book.

Blows me away that Dai still loves to hear me read even such a juvenile book. Dec 31, Marlee rated it really liked it. This is a sweet book. The animals are cute and friendly. My children especially enjoyed the parts where it said what the dog and cat were saying.
They found these very funny, and it had them both giggling uncontrollably. The book is simple and predictable, but an enjoyable read for young children.
